BEAT TAPES
This Privacy Statement also covers Beats by Moody’s subdomains, including the BEAT TAPES application at beattapes.beatsbymoody.com. BEAT TAPES is a members-only interactive feature. When you use it while signed in, we process account information to personalize your experience: the music genres you selected during onboarding (to arrange and highlight beats in your lane), the beats you save or collect, and a record of which beats you listen to for at least 25 seconds (to measure progress toward free-mix rewards). This amounts to profiling based on your stated preferences and in-app activity; it does not produce any legal or similarly significant effect on you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing and improving the members-only service you have chosen to use, and you may object to this processing at any time by contacting us. BEAT TAPES stores small amounts of functional data on your device — your sign-in session, the beats in your project, and crash diagnostics — as described in the cookie table. BEAT TAPES does not use advertising or third-party tracking, and does not share your information with third parties for their own purposes.
AI-assisted search and curation
Some features use the Gemini API, provided by Google LLC in the United States. When you search the catalog using more than one word, the text of your search is sent to Gemini so it can match your words against our beats. If you are a member, the description of what you are looking for that you gave us is sent to Gemini to suggest a starting search; and when we cut you a personal beat tape, that description, the genres you chose, and the titles of the beats you have saved are sent to Gemini so it can choose beats for your tape. Neither feature sends your name, email address, or IP address. We use Gemini under Google’s terms for unpaid services, which allow Google to use submitted text to provide, improve, and develop its products, and allow human reviewers at Google to read it after it has been disconnected from our account. For that reason, please do not include personal or sensitive information in a search or in your description. Gemini’s output only suggests which beats to show you; it does not produce any legal or similarly significant effect on you.
